Day 1

In the beginning...

The starting point...

At square one...

These are some phrases that describe where I find my self today, April 17, 2010. My wife Jordan and I rode up to purchase what will no doubt become a big part of my life over the next few years. We bought a 1967 Chevy C10 Short Wheel Base Stepside Pickup Truck. We bought this project from Mr. Whitlow the original owner of the truck in Tuskegee, AL. Mr. Whitlow was given the truck from Tuskegee Institute where he use it as a work vehicle in his role of Physical Plant supervisor on campus. Mr. Whitlow told me that he was give the truck in 1967 and received it with 69 miles on it.

The truck came with a 250 inline 6 under the hood. However Mr. Whitlow changed the engine to a 307 sometime later. I was excited to hear that it had a little extra juice in it.

I know that this is the same age truck that Stacey David did the Copperhead Truck. I am sure that I will be using that as a reference point throughout the process.
